I love music. I am that annoying person who is always pushing new tunes on you and burning you CDs and just happens to have that song you were thinking of on their phone, do you want to listen to it, you can, I'll wait. I fantasize about technology that will allow each persons theme song to play when then enter a room. Mine would be "Crosstown Traffic" by Jimi Hendrix.
I am so sick of snarky 26 year old "editors" of local music pages who don't need/want my help in covering the litany of kick ass bands and events that hit my town each weekend. Oakland and the Bay Area are such a happening place for music, I can't believe that they would be such dicks.Thankfully, technology has freed us from the tyranny of the paper page and so like the Doobie Brothers, I am taking it to the streets.
I can't say MixTAPE is going to be something cute like "best up to the minute Bay Area music coverage" or "your guide to what is happening in the Oakland" because I have a job that doesn't involve making playlists, although that should be my job. So all I can promise is "lots" of "cool" stuff as often as I can get it to you.
So welcome, listen to some tunes, stay a while.
